Al Tareeq, meaning “the path”, was built around a simple idea: Muslims in Australia deserve guidance that doesn’t ask them to leave their faith at the door.
We provide faith-centred guidance and compassionate care for individuals, couples and families. With care, confidentiality and respect, our services help the Muslim community mark life’s important moments, navigate personal challenges and fulfil religious obligations.
Sometimes that means standing with a couple as they begin their marriage. Sometimes it means sitting with someone through the hardest week of their life. The moments differ. The approach doesn’t.
How We Work
Our services are delivered with Islamic care, dignity and sensitivity. Guidance can be tailored to the needs of individuals, couples and families, with clear communication throughout the process.
We start by listening
Before anything is planned or arranged, we want to understand your circumstances, your family, and what a good outcome actually looks like to you. From there, we’re direct about what we can offer, how it works, and what it involves.
We know our limits
Where a situation calls for a doctor, a psychologist, a lawyer or a specialist service, we’ll tell you plainly and help you find the right professional care. Faith-based guidance and professional care are not in competition. They work best side by side.
Your Privacy and Dignity
Your privacy and dignity are important. Personal matters are handled sensitively and confidentially, subject to any legal or safety obligations that may apply.
In practice, what you tell us isn’t shared with your family, your community or anyone else without your consent. The only exceptions are those required by law, including situations involving serious risk of harm. If that ever applies, we’ll be upfront with you about it.
Who We Serve
We work with Muslims across Melbourne, from all cultural backgrounds and schools of thought. Whether you were born here or arrived last year, whether you attend the masjid weekly or haven’t been in years, you’re welcome.
